We are still under the cosh of this wretched winter virus, so just didn't have the energy for a planned new year walk in our local woods. Instead, we decided to do a little bit of tidying up in the garden. Although the snow is long gone and we have had a little rain, it was bitterly cold so we set ourselves the manageable task of moving and emptying the containers and stacking the pots, saucers, canes and plant supports, etc.
In doing so, we discovered a little crop of baby carrots! This tiny bonus harvest will be augmenting our veg today, and is a cheery little reminder warmer of days to come.
Time to curl up with the seed catalogues I think!
